A robotic facility is producing high-quality prescription pills that are custom made for each person. Robots in pharmacy usually focus on mass-producing pills and do not focus on an individual's unique needs. These robots automate the production of personalized therapy, making it more affordable and accessible.
Once the robot receives the digital prescription, a robotic arm brings the corresponding tray to a filling station. The robots then fill a capsule with the prescribed dosage needed by the patient. Then, the pill is weighed for accuracy. This creates one multi-drug pill specially meant for each patient.
"The system is fully automated, there are no production errors or oversights: the quality of the products is guaranteed by the reliability of the robots, and each step of the process has a digital record," says Zack Bright, CTO at Multiply Labs.
These automated robots are incredibly efficient and enable the pharmaceutical industry to progress towards a new standard of personalization over mass production.
