Scientists have created an AI robot that makes kids happier during their hospital stays. Children are becoming more isolated and stressed throughout hospital stays. This makes them non-communitive and resistant to eating. This robot brings joy to the hospital floor to encourage children and make it easier for medical staff to help them.
Robin, the robot, has an emotional AI system that recognizes the faces and feelings of children. It then displays emotions to speak with children about fun topics or explains complex medical procedures to ease their fears. Robin is proven to boost “joyfulness” by 26% and decrease stress by 34%.
“We aim to change kid’s perception of medical treatments, where they will no longer feel isolated, lonely, and scared,” says Karen Khachikyan, CEO and founder of Expper Technologies.
AI robots transform the way medical professionals care for young patients during this pandemic by protecting their minds from fearful situations.
